SuperChicken

My entry for the March Superhero vs. Supervillain Monthly Challenge on the cubebrush forums.
Designs done traditionally and coloured in Photoshop. Comic has traditional lineart and digital colouring in Photoshop.

Superchicken
Superpowers: Superjump (and “Chickenpower”, but that’s no real superpower)
Motivation: Wants to help people and rid the world of “Evil”
Background: Unknown (she probably has some form of amnesia)
Personality: Overbearing, clumsy, dull
Sidekick: Scaredy Cat
Nemesis: Dr. Foxtail

Superchicken, contrary to what the name implies, is not frightened easily. She is a bit of a loon and runs around like she runs the show, even though she’s got no clue.
Superchicken is stronger that the average human, but not enough to call it superstrength. She still calls it “Chickenpower” anyway. Her strength and her massive legs allow her to superjump around the place. In battle she uses her legs to both dodge and attack. However, her powers are pretty much nullified by her inherent clumsiness.
Her past is a bit blurry. Every time the story is told something changes. She might have been born this way, as she herself claims sometimes, but she might have also gotten the powers through some incident. Whatever it was, it left some traces, as Superchicken’s complexion is rather green.
Superchicken is overbearing; she will run all over you. Most of the times she is unaware of people’s needs. Deep down she does care however. In her heart she really wants to do good and help people, even if her priorities are off, and she would never intentionally harm a person. Superchicken takes herself and her duty to “fight Evil” very seriously.

Scaredy Cat, the sidekick, is quite fearful. Even though she is literally a cat, she seems to be very aware of everything. She is a regular housecat and very intelligent, but her intentions are not really clear. Yet somehow she does always seems to be in a state of apprehension.
No one really knows where the cat came from. She was probably just a stray Superchicken picked up.
If Scaredy Cat had the chance, she would probably be lazing around all day. However, as Superchicken literally drags her off to places, she does not have a choice. Regardless, Scaredy Cat still seems very fond of her owner. Superchicken talks to Scaredy Cat a lot, even if said cat never talks back, except for the occasional “meow”.

Dr. Foxtail is Superchicken’s nemesis. She’s a clever fox, she’s got a PhD in biotechnology, but she somehow fails to see that Superchicken is a complete idiot. She does not have any superpowers.
In the past Dr. Foxtail wanted to be Superchicken’s sidekick, but when the superhero picked a cat over her she swore her revenge against Superchicken. She chose her fox persona, because foxes kill chickens.
Dr. Foxtail is always plotting something and she usually has good ideas, but her schemes are never very grand. However Superchicken finds it very important to thwart her plans every time. Dr. Foxtail can be just as loud as Superchicken, so they are evenly matched.
